Let me save you the time and money I wasted. 

 

Over 31 years in work boots on the tools, I've tried the $250 "comfort" boots the apprentices swear by, $60 hard plastic inserts that felt like standing on a spoon, a drawer full of drugstore gel insoles, gel heel pads, doubled-up socks, a nightly epsom salt habit, and the $1,200 custom orthotics I finally caved on, just to get through a full week on the job.
